Xiaomi Teases a New Productivity-Focused Device for India After Its Latest TV Launch
Just a day after launching its new QLED X Pro 75 smart TVs in India, Xiaomi has started hinting at what’s coming next. And if the teasers are anything to go by, it won’t just be one product.

Between a cryptic social media post and comments from a company executive, Xiaomi appears to be lining up multiple smartphones, a tablet, and possibly a new computing device for India.
A “Computing” Device Is Coming
In a recent post on X, Xiaomi teased the arrival of a new computing product. The wording suggests the company wants to build on its tablet category, but the image hints at something slightly different.
The teaser shows a slim device with a flat frame and a keyboard attachment. The keys appear illuminated, though it’s not clear whether that’s a backlit keyboard or just screen light reflecting on the surface.
From the look of it, this could be a thin-and-light laptop. It could also be a tablet paired with a keyboard, positioned as a productivity device. Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed which direction it’s taking yet.
More Phones and a Tablet on the Way
Separately, Xiaomi India’s Associate Director of Marketing and PR, Sandeep Sarma, dropped a string of emojis that raised more questions. The post showed a TV, followed by two smartphones and a tablet, and then two more phones.
Put simply, Xiaomi isn’t done launching devices in India anytime soon.
The timing of these hints is interesting. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra will launch globally on February 28. That makes it reasonable to assume that some of these teased devices could follow shortly after.
Is the Xiaomi Pad 8 Headed to India?
According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the computing teaser likely refers to the Xiaomi Pad 8.
The tipster suggests the Pad 8 could arrive with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. However, the higher-end Pad 8 Pro model may not make it to India, reportedly due to rising component costs.
For context, Xiaomi’s current top tablet in China is the Pad 8 Pro, which launched in September 2025. That device features an 11.2-inch high-resolution LCD display, support for a backlit keyboard with a trackpad, and runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Whether Xiaomi brings a similar experience to India, or positions the Pad 8 differently, remains to be seen.
