The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is set to launch in China on December 25, which will join the existing models Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The company has been gradually revealing its features. Now, ahead of the launch, Xiaomi has shared details about the phone's camera. Here's everything you should know about the Xiaomi 17 Ultra's camera.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Camera Specifications Confirmed
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will come with a Leica-tuned 200MP periscope telephoto camera, delivering a continuous focal length between 75mm and 100mm. According to Xiaomi, this is the first time a smartphone has achieved this capability while also receiving Leica APO optical certification, and the camera uses a 3G + 5P dual floating lens design.

This design follows optical principles used in professional zoom lenses, setting it apart from typical periscope camera solutions used in smartphones. Xiaomi has also shared camera comparison samples showcasing the Xiaomi 17 Ultra against rival smartphones across focal lengths of 75mm, 85mm, 90mm, and 100mm. The images reveals an enhanced sharpness, richer fine details, and more natural-looking colours.
In addition to the telephoto camera, the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Ultra is confirmed to get a new Leica-backed one-inch Omnivision OV50X primary sensor, which utilizes advanced LOFIC technology to deliver superior dynamic range in difficult lighting. The phone will be available in Black, White, and a Starry Sky Green colour option. Its camera design resembles the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, featuring a large rear camera island with prominent Leica branding.
Moreover, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and could pack a massive 6,800mAh battery capable of 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. The handset will also be its thinnest Ultra smartphone yet, with a slim profile of just 8.29 mm. To read detailed features and design, click here.
