Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra Global Launch Set for Feb 28: Check Expected India Price and Launch Timeline

Xiaomi has confirmed that its next flagship phones, the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, will launch globally on February 28, 2026. The event will take place in Barcelona, alongside Mobile World Congress, and will be livestreamed at 7:30 PM IST.

Only Two Models for India

Globally, Xiaomi will show the full 17 lineup. But for India, expectations are simpler. Only the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are expected to make it here. The Pro and Pro Max models aren’t tipped to launch in India, at least for now.

Europe Pricing Sets the Upper Limit

Pricing will be confirmed at the launch event, but European prices have already leaked and give us a useful reference point.

According to reports, the Xiaomi 17 is expected to start at €999 for the base model, with a higher storage variant priced at €1,099. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra could start at €1,499 and go up to €1,699 for the top-end configuration.

What This Could Mean for India Pricing

Based on local reports and Xiaomi’s past pricing patterns, the Xiaomi 17 is expected to start under ₹80,000 in India. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, meanwhile, could start at around ₹1,25,000.

That would still be a noticeable jump over previous generations, especially for the Ultra. But it would also keep Xiaomi competitive against other ultra-premium phones, which now regularly cross the ₹1 lakh mark.

Of course, this is still early. Final prices will depend on storage options, launch offers, and how aggressively Xiaomi wants to push the Ultra in India.

India Launch Timing Still Unclear

So far, Xiaomi hasn’t started teasing the 17 series on its India website or social channels. That usually happens closer to a local launch, which could follow shortly after the global reveal.

Whether India pricing and availability are announced on stage or saved for a separate event remains to be seen.
