Oppo Reno 16 Pro Max Key Specifications Leaked Ahead of Launch: Could Debut With Flagship Dimensity Chip

Oppo refreshed its Reno lineup in China last November with the Reno 15 series, which later launched in India in January. If the company sticks to its usual update cycle, the next generation may not be far away.

Oppo Reno 16 Pro Max Key Specifications Leaked Ahead of Launch

A new leak now suggests the upcoming Reno 16 lineup could introduce an additional model called the Reno 16 Pro Max. The information comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who claims Oppo may expand the series with a larger, more powerful variant.

A Larger Display Could Be Part Of The Plan

According to the leak, the Reno 16 Pro Max may feature a 6.78-inch display.

The panel is said to support 1.5K resolution and use LTPO technology, which typically allows the refresh rate to adjust dynamically depending on the content. The display may also feature uniform bezels on all four sides, giving the front a more symmetrical look.

The tipster described the device as “super-sized,” which could hint at a bigger footprint compared to other models in the Reno lineup.

Chipset May Shift Toward Flagship Territory

Another interesting detail in the leak is the processor.

The Reno series has traditionally used upper midrange chips, but the Reno 16 Pro Max may take a different approach. According to the tipster, the phone could run on a flagship “N-1” Dimensity chipset. While the exact processor wasn’t named, the leak suggests it could be a previous-generation flagship chip, such as the MediaTek Dimensity 9400.

If that turns out to be accurate, it would move the Reno lineup closer to the sub-flagship segment rather than the midrange space it usually occupies.

Camera Setup Could Include A 200MP Sensor

The leak also mentions a possible 200-megapixel main camera on the Reno 16 Pro Max.

Alongside that, the device may include a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Interestingly, the Reno 16 Pro is also rumored to feature a similar telephoto setup, though it may use a different processor.

According to the same tipster, the Reno 16 Pro could run on the Dimensity 8500 chip.
