OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max, Vivo S50 Pro Mini, Motorola Edge 70 Ultra Tipped to Use Upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC

Qualcomm is gearing up for another major flagship chip launch. After introducing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in China this September, a new leak suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is set to debut globally by the end of November 2025.

According to popular tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), at least two smartphones powered by this new chipset will launch within the same month.

First Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Phones: OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max and Vivo S50 Pro Mini

DCS reports that the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered smartphone will feature a flat display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a massive 8,000mAh battery. Although the tipster did not specify the name, leaks indicate this device could be the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max.

The second phone using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is said to be a camera-centric compact model featuring a Sony IMX8-series periscope telephoto camera and a flat display with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Based on recent information, this phone is likely to be the Vivo S50 Pro Mini.

More Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Phones Coming Soon

Apart from OnePlus and Vivo, brands such as Meizu, iQOO, and Motorola are also reportedly preparing to launch devices powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. The alleged models include the Meizu 23, iQOO Z11 Turbo series, and Motorola Edge 70 Ultra.

In addition, other leaks suggest that the Oppo K15 Turbo Pro and Honor GT 2 may also feature the same chipset in the coming months.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Specifications and Performance

Built on TSMC's advanced N3P process, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is designed to deliver top-tier performance with improved efficiency. The SoC reportedly includes a dual-core cluster clocked at 3.8GHz, six performance cores at 3.32GHz, and an Adreno 840 GPU running near 1.2GHz.

In terms of benchmarks, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 scores around 3.3 million points on AnTuTu, and approximately 3,000 (single-core) and 10,000 (multi-core) in Geekbench 6 tests. In graphics performance, it achieves nearly 100fps in the Aztec 1440p benchmark, demonstrating impressive stability and power efficiency.

While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5's CPU performance is on par with the 8 Elite Gen 5, its GPU performance is slightly lower. However, the newer chip reportedly offers better sustained performance, thermal efficiency, and battery optimization, making it a more balanced flagship SoC for long-term usage.
