iQOO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro Are Getting Android 16-Based OriginOS 6 in the First Half of 2026

Vivo and iQOO recently confirmed the rollout of OriginOS 6 in India, replacing Funtouch OS. The iQOO 13 and iQOO 12 will be the first smartphones to receive the Android 16-based OriginOS 6 update in November.

Additionally, the iQOO Neo 10, Neo 10R, and iQOO Neo 9 Pro will also receive the update next month. However, iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya recently confirmed two Neo devices not previously on the list would also receive the OriginOS 6 update.

iQOO Neo 7 Series Get OriginOS 6

The iQOO Neo 7 and iQOO Neo 7 Pro will also get the OriginOS 6 updated based on Android 16 in the first half of 2026. To recall, the iQOO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro made their debut in India with Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13 out of the box.

However, iQOO had initially promised only two major Android OS updates for these models, making their inclusion in the OriginOS 6 rollout quite surprising and commendable. This move highlights the brand's growing commitment to extending software support and enhancing the overall user experience for existing customers.

How to Download OriginOS 6 - Step-By-Step

Before you start: back up important data, connect to Wi-Fi, and charge your phone above 50%.

1. Open Settings on your device.
2. Tap System.
3. Select Software update.
4. Wait for the phone to check for updates.
5. If OriginOS 6 / Android 16 appears, tap Download (or Download & install).
6. When the download finishes, tap Install and follow any on-screen prompts.
7. Your phone will reboot to apply the update - let it complete without interrupting power.
8. After the reboot, open Settings → System → Software update again to confirm the update was applied.
