Sony Launches 27” PlayStation Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook for Enhanced PS5 Gameplay
Sony has unveiled a new 27-inch gaming monitor designed specifically for PlayStation 5 users. This monitor, crafted by Sony Interactive Entertainment, includes a built-in DualSense charging hook. It aims to deliver the same high-quality visuals and performance PS5 players enjoy on larger screens, but in a more compact and personal setup. The monitor is set to launch in 2026 in the U.S. and Japan.
Since the PlayStation 5's release, Sony has observed trend of players seeking gaming experiences beyond traditional living room setups. This new monitor caters to who prefer desktop gaming, offering premium visual and audio experiences right at their desks. It features a Quad High Definition (QHD) IPS panel with up to 2560×1440 resolution.

Advanced Features for Enhanced Gaming
The monitor supports HDR with Auto HDR Tone Mapping, which automatically adjusts HDR settings when connected to a PS5 or PS5 Pro. This ensures richer visuals without manual adjustments. Gamers can also enjoy smooth performance due to Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support and refresh rates up to 120Hz on PS5 consoles or up to 240Hz on compatible PC and Mac systems.
A standout feature of this monitor is its design that incorporates PlayStation elements. The Charging Hook serves as both a charging dock for DualSense or DualSense Edge controllers, keeping the gaming area tidy while ensuring controllers are always ready for use.
Connectivity and Design Flexibility
Sony's new PlayStation monitor offers more than just impressive visuals; it is designed with flexibility in mind. It supports VESA mounts, allowing gamers to customise their setups, whether opting for a single clean desktop build or a dual-screen configuration.
The connectivity options are extensive, featuring two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and multiple USB ports (including two Type-A and one Type-C). These can be used for accessories like the PlayStation Link adapter or other devices. Both HDMI and DisplayPort connections support resolutions up to 2560×1440 at 240Hz.
Audio Options for Immersive Experience
For audio enthusiasts, the monitor includes built-in stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack for those who prefer wired sound options. Additionally, it pairs seamlessly with the newly announced Pulse Elevate wireless speakers that offer spatial sound and integrated voice chat for an immersive experience.
This launch signifies Sony's continued expansion of the PlayStation ecosystem beyond just consoles. The new monitor highlights how gaming is no longer limited to living rooms but can be enjoyed anywhere with consistent quality and performance. The release is confirmed for 2026 in the U.S. and Japan, with further details on pricing and global availability expected soon.
